Clinical Psychologist
I completed my professional qualification in clinical psychology in 2003. I have worked in the NHS and in private practice ever since. I have a wealth of experience in working with people with complex mental health problems, trauma and autism.
I have been on my own journey lately, having lived experience of neurodivergence. I know how difficult it can be to face the obstacles that life throws at you when you have extra barriers to overcome.
Many of my clients have provided me with feedback that I am warm, friendly, and compassionate. They frequently say therapy is not how they imagined it would be. As well as being serious, it can be fun because we build a genuine connection.
I am trained in various therapeutic models including Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR for adults, children and adolescents), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) and Compassion Focused Therapy. I am also accredited in tools used to assess for autism including the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS), the Autism Diagnostic Interview-revised (ADI-r) and the Autism Clinical Interview for Adults (ACIA).
If you think that I would be a good fit for you, then I am happy to have an initial free consultation with you.
