Clinical Psychologist

I help people who are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, low in self-esteem or recovering from trauma to connect with a sense of energy, clarity, and aliveness.

I also support people who are/suspect they may be ADHD or Autistic, helping you to understand your experiences with compassion and to develop strategies that truly fit.

I offer a grounded, compassionate approach to support you. Drawing on Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI), I tailor our work to meet your unique needs.

Together, we can find release from trauma and explore new ways to relate to yourself—with less self-criticism and more understanding. This often leads to healthier boundaries, greater emotional clarity, and a deeper connection to your values.

About me and my experience

I am a Clinical Psychologist with over 19 years of experience supporting individuals across the NHS and in private practice. Over the years, I’ve worked in community mental health teams, crisis and liaison services, and with young adults in care. This has given me a wealth of experience in helping people navigate a broad range of complex emotional and psychological difficulties. I don’t believe in a “one size fits all” way of working. Instead, I take time to understand you and what you need right now, and I tailor our work together so it feels attuned, compassionate, and effective.

My journey into psychology began in Manchester, where I first worked as an Assistant Psychologist while completing my PhD. During this time, I was fortunate to be mentored by someone who embodied the kind of therapist I wanted to become — sincere, compassionate, grounded, and genuinely human.

This shaped how I work today: I believe that connection is central to healing. We all experience hurt, struggle, and vulnerability — that is part of being human. But when we feel cut off or alone in our pain, it can be deeply harmful. Therapy offers a space where you are truly seen, heard, and understood. Being held in mind by someone with compassion and safety can be a transformative experience, especially when combined with practical tools to overcome fear, shame, and self-criticism.

My style and therapeutic approach

I offer support that is collaborative, responsive, and paced with care. At times, I’ll offer practical strategies and skills to help you manage difficult emotions and strengthen your inner resources. At other times, I’ll simply hold space for the pain you may be carrying, without judgement, and with deep respect for your courage in bringing it to light.

At the heart of my practice is the understanding that emotional struggles are not signs of dysfunction or disorder, but natural responses to life’s challenges. Whether it’s trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, Autism, grief, burnout, or identity struggles – these experiences are all part of what it means to be human.

My approach is rooted in warmth, compassion, and authenticity. I offer a safe, collaborative space where you can explore difficulties with curiosity, kindness, and the support you need to move towards greater ease, resilience, and self-understanding. My aim is for you to feel supported, empowered, and gently guided toward a life that feels more spacious, connected, and aligned with who you are.

I draw primarily on Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), a model that has personally and professionally resonated with me for its clarity, depth, and transformative power. CFT offers a framework for understanding our inner worlds and learning how to meet ourselves with compassion, especially when we feel overwhelmed, stuck, or ashamed. I’m also trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills, and Motivational Interviewing, and I integrate elements from polyvagal theory, embodiment practices, and more spiritual and traditional wisdoms to suit your individual needs.

Let’s take this next step towards your healing together……..

If you’re considering therapy and wondering if we might be a good fit, I strongly encourage you to contact me.  Reaching out and facing our difficulties can be vulnerable, but you don’t have to do it alone – I’m here to walk alongside you.
